Shadow a woman working in Information Technology for the day and find out what the job is like, what a daily routine is, and what the benefits and challenges are.
“ShadowTech made me realise that there are a lot more different opportunities for IT jobs than I imagined. I never knew that some jobs exist! It isn’t scary and not as serious as I thought it would be. Spending the day with my mentor has made me a lot more interested in a career in IT.” – ShadowTech 2017 Participant

The ShadowTech mentor scheme is for female students in years 9 – 11. Speak to your teacher to see if your school is participating in ShadowTech this year.
Your school will provide more details about the day and a link for your ShadowTech registration, which will include you setting up a Youth Hub profile. Then we will work to match you with a suitable mentor in your nearest main centre.
What is Youth Hub?
Youth Hub is a free online platform, endorsed by the Ministry of Youth Development, to empower young people and to bridge the gap between education and employment.
NZTech have teamed up with Youth Hub to create an easy and interactive way for students to register for ShadowTech.
Your Youth Hub profile will be used to manage your involvement in ShadowTech, and can also be useful to continue connecting with those you meet on the day, build your personal brand, showcase your talents via pictures and videos, find connections and discover other opportunities in your local areas.
